2 men charged with sex crimes inside Jacksonville church
- January 11, 2011
Two men are in jail on charges that they’d sexually abused children inside a Jacksonville church.
Authorities said a whistle-blower’s tip helped lead to victims who described years of torment.
Paul Keith Groover, 56, and Darrell Vincent Moore, 45, were arrainged on a host of sexual battery charges Monday. Each is a member and employee of Greater Refuge Temple in the Northside.
Groover is the son of the church’s leader, Bishop Gentle Groover Sr., who did not return phone calls.
The charges can be traced back nearly a decade. There are four victims in all. The Times-Union does not name victims of sex crimes.
