Bishop Eddie Long Wins Worst Pastor of 2010 Title

On December 31, 2010 The Preacher Bureau of Investigations (PBI) announced the Bishop Eddie Long has in fact won the title of the Worst Pastor of 2010. The announcement was made during an episode of Church Folk Revolution Radio.
Despite the fact that the year started off pretty quiet for Bishop Long, he quickly blew by his competition for the award by finishing strong with two nationally publicized scandals back to back. Starting in August 2010 with the reported burglary of his office to the climax of the sex scandal on September 21st, Bishop Long has succeeded in holding down the number one spot in the religious news category.
Just when things appeared to have calm down at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church another scandal involving members and a mortgage scam made headline news again. According to a CBS news report, members of Bishop Long’s staff were using church facilities to recruit members into a mortgage scam that ripped them off to the tune of $1500 each. In traditional Eddie Long fashion, he only released a vague statement claiming that his only involvement was the use of his office space.
