Christian School Teacher Resigns – Allegations of Sex With A Student
- October 16, 2008
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) — Police are investigating a former teacher at Warner Christian Academy in South Daytona for allegedly having sex with an underage male student.
According to a police report an administrator heard about the alleged sexual relationship between the teacher and student.
The administrator told officers the relationship may have been going on for at least four months and that the two might have been having sex at hotels in Port Orange and Daytona Beach.
Mark Tress, the headmaster at Warner Christian, said the school conducted its own investigation and concluded there was inappropriate behavior going on that violated the teacher’s contract. The teacher was asked to resign Sunday. She did and has not been at school since.
The school sent a letter home to parents notifying them the teacher resigned from her position citing personal reasons.
Since she has not been arrested or charged with any crime yet, the teacher is not being identified.
