WASHINGTON, Pa. — A man who was subdued with a Taser by police for preaching naked in Washington County on Sunday was arrested and charged with murder in Baltimore on Tuesday.

Baltimore County Police said they arrested and charged David Aaron Briggs, 23, with the Nov. 22 murder of a Baltimore-area woman.

On Sunday, police officers had to use a Taser to subdue Briggs in the City Mission in Washington, Pa., where he was reading Bible passages naked.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Briggs was reportedly standing in the pulpit, acting as if he was giving a sermon. Police said that Briggs’ clothes were in a pile on the chapel floor.

Witness said he kneeled, prayed at the Alter, chanted, read bible passages and started preaching from the pulpit.

Police had to use a Taser to subdue Briggs before taking him to a local hospital for treatment, where he was picked up by his father and taken back to Baltimore, authorities said.

Baltimore County police confirmed Briggs is accused of stabbing Aysha Dawn Ring, 24, in the neck with an edged weapon while she waited to make a purchase at a Baltimore liquor store.

Detectives positively identified Briggs after collecting physical evidence and security camera video images from the scene, police said.Briggs was charged on Tuesday with first-degree murder in Baltimore.
