Authorities: Warren expected to meet underage girl at N.Y. hotel

An employee of a Jackson residential treatment program for troubled teenage boys was arrested in New York last week after authorities said he went to a hotel expecting a tryst with an underage girl.

Larry Warren, who was director of operations and personnel at Youth Town in Jackson, was fired Feb. 13 after he was arrested in Manhattan, Youth Town Executive Director Nick Pappas said Thursday.

According to an article on the Web site of the New York Daily News, Warren, 57, was arrested Friday by the Child Exploitation Unit of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an Embassy Suites in lower Manhattan.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement official could not provide additional details on the arrest Thursday night.

Warren could not be reached for comment.

At Youth Town, Warren worked in human resources and helped with general operations of the campus, Pappas said Thursday. He did not have any duties or responsibilities over children.

Pappas said Youth Town did not have any problems with Warren during the four years he worked there.

Warren is an ordained minister with 30 years of ministry and business experience, according to Youth Town’s Web site.

Youth Town is a Christian residential treatment center for teenage boys. The center’s programs help boys with problems including alcohol and drug addiction and behavioral problems.
